Esha Gupta in her apology letter to Nigerian footballer: I am sorry, was caught up in the game

Esha Gupta, who was slammed on social media for making racist remarks against Alexander Iwobi, the Nigerian footballer last week has penned an apology letter to him.
In the letter Esha wrote, ''I am extremely sorry for my ignorant action last Friday. Being an ardent fan of many years, I was deeply engrossed and caught up in the game."
According to IANS, she said she "clearly did not realise the racial undertone" from her friend's message, which she had shared on Instagram last week.
"For this, I am deeply regretful. I cannot begin to imagine how much I have hurt your sentiments. Racism has absolutely no place in my heart, and I promise you, for whatever it's worth, going forward this will never happen again," Jannat 2 actress said in her letter according to IANS.

In a tweet shared on the micro-blogging site, Esha Gupta was seen expressing her racist remarks on the footballer on her Instagram story.
"Solves our winger issues. I can't see that gorilla faced Iwobi running down the flank again. He's so bad ya,'' read the screenshot.
According to IANS, Esha's friend who was having the conversation with her on WhatsApp called Iwobi a "gorilla" and said that "evolution stopped for him". To that, Esha Gupta replied, "Haha... I don't know why they don't bench him more."

She was earlier trolled for showing her middle finger on the Internet in a boomerang video last year. However, her gesture did not go down too well with her followers, who questioned if it was her "way of seeming 'cool''.
On the work front, Esha was last seen on the big screen in Milan Luthria's Baadshaho along with Emraan Hashmi.
